World's Biggest Beaver Dam - Discovered in Canada

It's called the world's biggest beaver dam and it's so massive that it can be seen from the space. It defeated the 652-meter structure in Three Forks in Montana, USA which previously held the record for world's biggest beaver dam.

The world's biggest beaver dam has been discovered in northern Alberta, Canada by Researcher Jean Thie through the use of satellite imagery and Google Earth software. The dam which is about 850 metres (2,800 feet) long is located on the southern edge of Wood Buffalo National Park.

Regarded as nature's greatest engineers, beavers build dams to create deep, still pools of water to protect against predators, and to float food and building materials.
